A large box-type commercial air purification device for purification

Many families have the habit of buying air purifiers, which are used to improve air quality and protect the health of their families, but one thing that is often overlooked is that the air in the offices we stay in every day, the shopping malls we often go to, etc., is safe? Based on these considerations and needs, commercial air purifiers came into being.

Commercial air purifiers refer to air purification equipment specially designed for commercial environments. They are mainly used in commercial places such as companies, shopping malls, factories, and hospitals to remove various pollutants in the air and improve indoor air quality. The main function of commercial air purifiers is to adsorb, decompose or transform various air pollutants, including particulate matter, pollen, odor, bacteria, allergens, and decoration pollution such as formaldehyde.

The working principles of commercial air purifiers usually include the following:

1. High-voltage electrostatic dust collection: The dust particles are charged and adsorbed to the electrodes through a high-voltage electrostatic field, which is suitable for the collection of large particles. Ionization is generated by high voltage, so that the dust is charged. When the charged dust passes through the high-voltage electrostatic field, according to the principle of “positive and negative attract each other”, the dust will be adsorbed on the aluminum sheet of opposite polarity, playing a role of efficient dust absorption. At the same time, harmful microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, molds, etc. will also die due to the expansion of cell membranes under high-voltage ionization and high-voltage static voltage. But this may also cause ozone and cleaning problems.

2. Mechanical filter type: It captures particles through direct interception, inertial collision, Brownian diffusion and screening effect, which is suitable for the collection of fine particles, but the wind resistance is large and the filter life is short. Common filters include primary filter, medium filter, high-efficiency filter, etc.

  • Primary filter: mainly used to block larger particles of dust, hair, etc., and plays a role in preliminary filtration
  • Medium efficiency filter: can filter smaller particles and some gaseous pollutants
  • High-efficiency filter: can effectively remove tiny particles, such as PM2.5, bacteria, viruses, etc.

3. Electrostatic electret filter: uses electrostatic electret materials to effectively remove tiny particles, with low wind resistance and high capture efficiency, and does not produce ozone.

4. Negative ion and plasma method: makes the particles in the air charged and agglomerated and settled, but the removal effect on fine particles is limited. The advantages of this type of air purifier are that there is no filter, no need to replace consumables, and low operating costs. It produces a large number of negative ions, which is helpful to improve air quality. However, the purification effect of ion purifiers is relatively weak, and the removal effect on larger particles is limited.

The purification methods of commercial air purifiers mainly include passive and active types:

Passive purification

Passive purification is to inhale air through a built-in fan, and then the air flows through a series of fine filters to remove pollutants, and finally output purified air. This type of purifier usually includes a primary filter, an activated carbon filter and a HEPA filter. The HEPA filter is mainly used to filter dust particles, while the activated carbon filter is used to absorb odors and harmful substances.

Active purification

Active purification is to achieve a comprehensive cleaning effect by actively releasing purification factors into the air and utilizing the natural diffusion characteristics of the air. Common purification factors include negative ions, photocatalysts and silver ions. The negative ion generator plays a basic disinfection role by releasing negative ions; the photocatalyst technology uses titanium dioxide catalysts to decompose harmful substances into harmless substances; and the silver ion coating is used for antibacterial.
